About Dr. Beverly Kaye
Guide on the Side—Sage on the Stage
Dr. Beverly Kaye is a best-selling author, dynamic speaker and internationally recognized authority on career development, employee engagement and retention. Since her entrepreneurial debut as CEO of Career Systems International (CSI) forty years ago, Bev has used her incisive and inventive thinking to help organizations reduce the costs of talent loss and foster cultures of support. She has refreshed the thinking and behaviors of countless business leaders – as a guide on the side and sage on the stage.
SAGE ON THE STAGE
While continuing to share her thought-leadership through current and upcoming books and articles, Bev ignites conversations and new thinking as a keynote speaker. She inspires leadership audiences to “help their employees grow or watch them go,” support employee career mobility, and “Love ’Em or Lose ’Em.” She also teaches employee audiences how to take charge of their own career and how to ask for, and identify their personal engagement and retention drivers.
GUIDE ON THE SIDE
Bev continues to breathe new life into career development, employee engagement and retention projects that could better meet the needs of the workforce. Bev also hosts just-in-time talent management conversations, facilitates strategic brainstorming, delivers 1:1 career coaching, and participates on interactive panels.
These are exciting times for Bev Kaye & Co. – and for progressive business leaders who want to partner with her team to learn new ways of growing and engaging talent.
A Note from Bev
There is a Kierkegaard quote that says, “Life can only be understood backwards; but it must be lived forwards.” More and more, with every passing birthday, that quote just makes so much sense!
If anyone would have told me, way back in my college and early career years that I would be doing what I’m doing now, I probably (like many of you) would have said (rather assertively) … NO WAY! Yet, as I think about it, I suppose this field and my specialties within it showed themselves early. I always gathered friends and colleagues together, always “taught” in one way or another, and always loved trying to see things differently and innovatively. I wanted to make the complex simple, memorable, and smile-evoking.
I was blessed to select a dissertation topic that (surprisingly) has nourished and nurtured me. I founded a learning company (Career Systems International that educated managers and employees around the world in development, engagement, and retention for more than four decades. I was also blessed to work with a team of practitioners to help me in all those accomplishments. Now, like many others, I’ve reinvented myself in an equally nourishing way.
Two words on this new website mean a great deal. When I renamed my current organization Bev Kaye and Company, I took the word “company” very seriously. For me it means:
• The pleasure of your “company”
• Being in good “company”
• Enjoying the “company” of intelligent and creative work colleagues/friends
• Having a “company” as a venture, an undertaking, practice, business, or entity
I also realized that I do my best work when I collaborate with others. Hence, I invite you to join the Bev Kaye Collaboratory.
